The Project & Challenge.
The Mardi to Warnervale Pipeline project when finished, will provide bulk water transfer across the north of the Central Coast. The Mardi to Warnervale Pipeline project will run from the existing Water Treatment Plant at Mardi right down to Sparks Road, Warnervale. The $61million project is vital infrastructure upgrade for the central coast region, bringing multiple benefits to existing elevated areas emerging low pressure areas (including new subdivisions) with higher operating pressure, increased efficiency and reduced reliance on booster pump stations. Challenges involved in such a large-scale project included:
- Site health & safety,
- Environmental impacts & Restorations
- Operator efficiency & Earthmoving Machine Availability
- Movement and install of large pipelines, including pre install trenching and post installation backfilling.
Solution Plant Hire were approached with an initial enquiry on availability of reliable dry hire earthworks machinery for long term hire. The Joint Venture required a partner for they earthmoving dry hire needs. SPH was chosen for joint venture MWP Project and were able to provide all required machinery, with specification required in a timely matter. These included 12 tonne site dumpers, 30 tonne moxy, multiple 23.5 Tonne, 30 Tonne and 35 Tonne excavators.
The desired outcome was achieved with great success, with the joint venture MWP Project remaining on track to finish on projected timelines.
